We had an awesome dining experience at Odyssey Bistro. The service was genuinely friendly and so helpful. The staff made us feel welcome and well looked after all night. The meals were absolutely amazing. The tuna tartare was incredibly fresh and beautifully balanced, and the potato gnocchi was hands down one of the best we’ve had, soft, flavourful and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the quality and freshness in every dish. We’ll definitely be back to try the next menu. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a standout dining experience!
As always, perfect dining experience! Loved last month’s menu, especially the fish cerviche, eggplant and baby carrots side dish! Tried a really nice bottle of white wine which was from a local winery with Scott’s guidance, spot on choice to match the meal! December and New Years Eve menu’s look awesome!
The service was fantastic, as was the food and drinks. The meals were amazing and there wasn’t one component in any dish that we didn’t like. The cocktails were so good you would have thought we were dying of thirst if you saw how many we had. And each meal was described to us in detail by the fantastic waitstaff along with brief descriptions on how certain components are created. Definitely an experience well worth the money. The meal sizes were good and we left feeling full and satisfied.
We had the pleasure to dine at Odyssey during our summer holidays in Queensland. The restaurant was recommended on the Good Food guide, and after checking their website, we decided to try our luck at the last minute. The team was kind enough to accommodate us with the last 2 seats, at the bar. We had a great night still, looking at the barman shake cocktails and mocktails and serving wine. We love that the menu is a 'market' menu. It changes week after week depending on what is in season. The team in the kitchen works with "local" suppliers, growers, farmers or dairy farms about 300km around. We both really enjoyed the flavour combinations and how the chef plays with textures. Every dish was fresh and few components only were fried, which we lived (some restaurant really to much on fried components for crunch in my view). The menu was delicious from start to finish. The service was lovely, there for every of our needs without being too present. We will definitely be back next time we visit that beautiful part of Australia.
Last night we attended odyssey for a late bday celebration, we were a bit of a rowdy bunch. The staff were absolutely amazing, the food was sensational, the atmosphere was so insanely good I’m annoyed it’s taken me 3 years too book. Thank you guys, last night was an extremely amazing night. And the memories will hold forever.
From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the night and food was perfect. I had been wanting to try Odyssey for some time, but I do believe I chose the best time to come. The service was just wonderful, high spec, but very welcoming too, such a fantastic mix. Can't fault the food at all, and loved being able to have a wide selection of "per glass" wines that matched beautifully. Will be back again, and in the meantime rave about this place A LOT!!
Stunning meals and excellent service. The wine list was excellent, I honestly can’t find a fault. I can’t wait to go back and try more items off the menu. Thank you for a fabulous long lunch! No food pics because we devoured it!

Odyssey Bistro is an absolute standout in Hervey Bay. Their philosophy of using fresh, locally sourced produce shines through in every dish - you can really taste the quality. The menu is creative and full of flavour, the atmosphere is intimate yet welcoming and the service is spot on. A true celebration of local food and a must-visit for anyone who loves dining with heart.
I had such a great time on the 12th that I came back again the next day. The staff were incredibly friendly, and course was unique and absolutely delicious. I was told the menu changes every month, and the chef must be very talented. I’d definitely love to visit again!
